80 Examples of Stunning HDR Photography

What is a HDR Photo?

HDR is "high-dynamic-range photography", achieved by capturing multiple standard photographs at different exposures and then using software to merge them together. HDR images can be taken with any camera that allows over (or under) exposure of a photo. For example, even a few mobile phones are capable of doing this nowadays!

How to Shoot HDR Photos

Peter Tellone has already written a HDR tutorial which has been released here on Phototuts+. It will walk you through the process step-by-step.

High Dynamic Range Photography Merge in cs4

In this tutorial we will take a look at HDR photography. HDRI (High Dynamic Range Imaging) was originally used in 3D and is now in full force in photography. Basically it's the process of taking multiple exposures and merging them together into a single 32 bit image. Let me explain: A camera is capable of capturing a limited amount of tones in a single photo. Typically we sacrifice elements in a photo when we press the shutter. For example there is a powerful cloudscape and some cliffs. If we expose for the clouds the cliffs become dark. If we set the camera's exposure to capture detail in the cliffs, the brighter sky is blown out and detail is lost. This is because the human eye can see a larger range of tones than the camera can capture on the chip or film in a single photograph.

40 Inspiring Panoramic Photographs

Author: Peter Sawyer

You probably know me as peewee1002, I am a young guy who is simply interested in the world of graphic design. I spend too much money on photography and too much time on a computer.

What Is a Panoramic Photo?

A panoramic photo is simply any image which has two or more shots stitched together to make it appear as one large photograph. Creating a panorama is very useful if you don't own super wide lenses, as often you can achieve a similar effect.

Panoramic images don't just have to be horizontal, you can also merge images vertically. Many try to capture a full 360° angle of their surroundings, and some examples of these are shown in the pictures below.

Asaph for wordpress

Asaph is a micro-blogging system, focusing on collecting links and images from other pages. It allows you to post content directly from any page you are on. Asaph is not a full blown blog and it does not aim to be one — it just does this one task, but it's pretty good at it.

The alternative Stickney Theme also shows date and author information for each post and allows posting of longer texts. Feel free to modify these themes to your liking, or create new ones.

My own Asaph blog can be found at asaph.phoboslab.org.

Here's a short screencast of how posting entries in Asaph works:
